3 most underrated early signees in Texas's 2025 class

We're just a few weeks away from most of Texas's spring enrollees/early signees from the 2025 recruiting class arriving on campus for next semester.

Josiah Sharma, DL

One of Texas's most important flips in the 2025 signing class for this cycle was the highly touted four-star Folsom (CA) defensive lineman Josiah Sharma. After Sharma committed to the Oregon Ducks over the Longhorns in late June this past summer, Texas never threw in the towel for his recruitment.

Texas got Sharma on campus for late July, around the time of the pool party/BBQ bash late in the summer. Sharma flipped his commitment from Oregon to Texas in late July.

The 6-foot-4.5 and 325-pound defensive tackle from Northern California has great size, strength, and a lengthy wingspan. Sharma hasn't played defensive line for very long, but he has the physical tools to be a specimen in the SEC trenches in college.

The type of size and potential Sharma brings to Texas's SEC defensive line means he could very easily surpass his recruiting ranking in terms of on-field production future value for the Longhorns.

Flipping Port Charlotte (FL) four-star defensive lineman Myron Charles from the Florida State Seminoles and Sharma from the Ducks was huge for Texas's defensive line recruiting class. Texas and defensive line coach Kenny Baker had to get more help with talented big bodies in the trenches at defensive tackle.

Texas's No. 1 ranked recruiting class in the nation for 2025 was secured by signing the No. 2 defensive line recruit for this cycle during the signing period, five-star Justus Terry on Dec. 6.

But I could see Charles and Sharma both contributing earlier to Texas's defensive line than Terry since they're bigger and more filled out for their frames than the elite five-star defensive tackle from the Peach State.
