Texas A&M

One of the in-state programs to watch that could court Cook potentially in the transfer portal next offseason, during the winter portal window, is Texas A&M and first-year head coach Mike Elko. Texas A&M has multiple connections to Cook on its coaching staff, stemming back to his recruitment out of DeSoto High School in the 2023 class.

Texas A&M is another program that heavily recruited Cook out of high school. Cook took multiple unofficial visits to Texas A&M during the 2022 offseason. He also included the Aggies among his five finalist schools that he announced a few months before committing to the Longhorns in the summer of 2022.

Another relevant connection between the Aggies' coaching staff and Cook is with Texas A&M co-offensive coordinator and former Alabama Crimson Tide wide receivers coach Holmon Wiggins. Not only was Wiggins the leading recruiter for Alabama in Cook's recruitment, but he also was one of the WR coaches that offered him pretty early in the process.

Alabama was a school that Cook unofficially visited multiple times, and he had a great relationship that he built with Wiggins.

With Wiggins now on the Texas A&M coaching staff, and the Aggies looking for big-time skill position transfers in the receiving corps to give more weapons to dual-threat quarterback Marcel Reed, it makes a lot of sense for Cook to consider this option out of the portal next offseason.
