Florida's go-to receiver and most explosive playmakers in the receiving corps, Eugene Wilson, is out for the rest of the season after he had hip surgery earlier this week.

Wilson's season-ending injury has thrusted super senior and former Arizona State Sun Devils transfer Elijhah Badger into the top receiver role for the Gators in SEC play. Badger is Florida's leading receiver this season, with over 550 receiving yards and two touchdown catches in eight games.

What Badger brings to the table that makes him difficult to deal with for opposing team's defensive secondaries is his combination of route running ability and speed to make plays after the catch. Badger has the speed and agility to create separation in the intermediate and deep passing game, when he's stretching the field to get over the top against opposing defenses.

But he is also slippery and reliable enough to pick up big gains after the catch and make multiple defenders miss out in space when he gets the ball in his hands in the short passing and screen game.

Regardless of who's starting at quarterback this weekend for the Gators, Lagway or redshirt freshman Aidan Walker, the Longhorns have to know where Badger is on the field pre snap on each passing play. He's been a major weapon for Florida's deep passing game and explosive plays this season.

Badger ranks top five in the SEC in deep receiving grade and deep receiving yards (292).
