Marcel Reed, QB

The Texas A&M offense has become much more dynamic and potent since redshirt freshman Marcel Reed took over at quarterback for redshirt sophomore Conner Weigman. Texas A&M offensive coordinator Collin Klein has heavily relied on Reed's ability to keep the chains moving with his running ability at quarterback.

Since the Aggies lost standout running back Le'Veon Moss for the rest of the 2024 season due to a lower-body injury, Reed's running ability has become even more important. He's averaged double-digit QB run attempts per game in the past three full contests since Moss suffered the season-ending injury against South Carolina in early November.

There's a very viable probability that Reed is the best dual-threat quarterback the Texas defense has had to face this regular season. The 6-foot-2 and 200-pound dynamic signal caller boasts a strong arm, speed, elusiveness outside of the pocket, and the ability to make big plays off-script.

Reed's improvisational ability gives a more explosive element to the Texas A&M offense. He can escape the pocket and make big-time throws on the run to find open receivers downfield.

He ranks second in the SEC in explosive run plays (6) this season. Reed also can take off and make plays with his legs and elusiveness in the open field.

The question for this game for the Aggies' offense through the air will be whether Reed can lead this unit without turning the ball over at costly times. Reed has six turnovers lost (three interceptions and three fumbles lost) in the past three games.
