Texas Women's Basketball honored their seniors at the Moody Center this afternoon before taking on the Florida Gators. Things got off to a rocky start in the first quarter before things returned to normal. Longhorns forward Madison Booker looked like her usual self in the 72-46 win over the Gators this afternoon.

Texas finishes their season with a 29-2 record. The Gators started the game on an 8-1 run, which was surprising for the Longhorns. The ladies were still emotional after the Rori Harmon presentation before the game.

Once the ladies got settled into the game, it was over for Florida. While the ladies struggled with rebounding the ball in the first half, they made each of their shot attempts count. That's how the Longhorns had an 11-point lead at halftime.

The one lesson the Longhorns learned from today's game is that they don't have to have the game wrapped up by halftime in the SEC. It will be a battle in all four quarters, unlike the Big 12. Here are the three takeaways from the Longhorns' win over the Gators.

3. Settling down after game started

The entire Longhorns team was startled by how the game started this afternoon. Florida came out of the gate swinging and put the Longhorns in an early deficit. Vic Schaefer got the girls to settle down midway through the first quarter.

After he finished talking with them, it was a completely new team. Longhorn fans should be happy with how the girls regrouped and swung back at the Gators after trailing early this afternoon.

2. Defense looks ready for SEC Tournament

The Longhorns' defense looks ready for the SEC tournament. This afternoon, the Longhorns won the turnover battle 23-11. Once the girls regrouped in the first quarter, the. That defense will cause issues for the teams they play in the conference tournament.

There's a reason Vic Schaefer's nickname is the "Secretary of Defense." The Longhorns can force turnovers during any basketball game on their schedule. The Gators learned that lesson the hard way this afternoon.

1. Booker had nice performance

Booker looked like her vintage self this afternoon. Her 14 points gave her the second-highest score for Texas this afternoon, a better performance than Thursday against Mississippi State. Texas will need her if it wants to win the SEC Conference Tournament in its first season in the conference.

Teams will double and possibly triple-team her during the tournament. Teams know that when she's off her game, it disrupts how Texas runs its offense. Booker's offensive production will be something to watch for Schaefer when the SEC Conference Tournament begins March 5th.
