Arthur Kaluma puts up career numbers
This was a monster game for Kaluma on both ends of the floor, with a career-high 34 points on 12-of-16 shooting from the field, 5-of-6 from beyond the arc, and 5-of-7 from the free-throw line. He was shooting the lights out, which he's done all season long for the Longhorns from the field and from beyond the arc.
After this game, Kaluma is now shooting better than 50 percent from three-point range.
Kaluma did all he could to help keep the Longhorns within striking distance of pulling off the second-half comeback against the Tigers in this game. He was the only Longhorns player keeping them in the game offensively in the first half.
Kaluma scored a game-high 14 first-half points on an efficient 5-of-9 shooting from the field and a perfect 4-of-4 from the charity stripe. He also set the tone on the boards for the Longhorns, hauling in a team-high six rebounds in the game's first 20 minutes.
And he was getting the job done on both ends of the floor. Seven of Kaluma's eight boards in this game were defensive rebounds. He also disrupted a couple of Auburn shots on the defensive end. Kaluma registered multiple blocks for the third time in the past four games.
Per Stathead, Kaluma is the first player in the NCAA this season to register at least 30 points, five three-pointers, multiple blocks, and eight rebounds while shooting better than 50 percent from deep.
Kaluma has not only been Texas's most consistent two-way player this season, but he also has a case to be the team's MVP after 15 games.
