One of the heroes of the game for the Longhorns on either side of the ball in the double-digit win in the Lone Star Showdown over the No. 20 Texas A&M Aggies this past Saturday night was redshirt freshman offensive tackle Trevor Goosby. The big 6-foot-7 and 315-pound offensive tackle was tremendous in his first game in college, where he really took significant snaps in live-game action for the Longhorns.

Goosby was called into action earlier than expected this fall after junior offensive tackle Kelvin Banks Jr. suffered a lower-body injury against Texas A&M.

Stepping into a really difficult situation on the road in a hostile environment at Kyle Field in front of 100,000+ loud Texas A&M fans, Goosby showed an heir of calmness, composure, and mature confidence for a freshman in his shoes against the Aggies.

After the win over Texas A&M in the Lone Star Showdown in College Station last weekend, Sarkisian complimented Goosby's clutch performance when the O-Line needed him to step up at left tackle after Banks' injury in the first half of the game.

"I really thought we controlled the line of scrimmage tonight. I was really proud of Trevor Goosby when Kelvin went down. Stepped in for his first real action and I thought performed well in not an easy environment to do that."

Goosby didn't allow a single sack or quarterback pressure in over 40 pass-blocking snaps blocking in pass pro for quarterback Quinn Ewers against a talented A&M front seven last weekend. He was the second-highest-graded pass blocker in the SEC in Week 14 (per PFF).

On this week's SEC-mandated injury report, Banks is listed as "questionable". With Banks' status still up in the air due to the ankle injury he suffered in the first half against Texas A&M last weekend,

Goosby could be in line to get the first start of his collegiate career against a Georgia defensive front that gave Ewers and the Longhorns many issues when the Dawgs beat Texas in Austin in mid-October.
