3 Texas targets most likely to commit during the Longhorns' busy OV season

Per usual, Texas is going to have an extremely busy official visit season this year, beginning at the end of this month. Though the Longhorns are in a really good position with quite a few of their top 2027 targets, three of them could actually commit during their official visits this year.

Fan favorites like Brandon Sherrard and Montre Jackson undoubtedly have the Longhorns as their No.1 school right now, but some players might actually be planning on committing during their official visits this year.

Here are the three Steve Sarkisian targets most likely to commit during OV season:

4-star OT Brian Swanson - June 12th OV

Swanson has been getting recruited by Texas since he was a freshman in 2023, and he's developed an excellent relationship with both Sarkisian and OL Coach Kyle Flood. Not only was Swanson the first offensive lineman the Longhorns offered in the 2027 class, but he's been to Austin for unofficial visits 4-5 times already as well.

Something crazy would have to happen for Swanson to not end up at Texas, and committing during his official visit would be a great way to cap off a 1,000+ day recruiting process. There's a very, very good chance that happens next month.

4-star WR Briceson Thrower - June 15th OV

Thrower was offered by Texas WR Coach Chris Jackson on June 1st, 2025, on the same day that he performed incredibly well at one of their summer camps. Since then, Coach Jackson has been in constant contact with the blue-chip receiver from North Forney High School, about three hours north of Austin.

Things have slowly begun to ramp up between the two parties over the last month and a half, and now that he's the only prospect who scheduled their OV for June 15th, quite a few analysts believe that he's planning on committing that day.

4-star OG Reed Ramsier - June 19th OV

Texas offered Ramsier at the same summer camp that Thrower was last year, and both players have similar relationships with their potential position coaches. Kyle Flood also brought Ramsier over to Austin this spring to watch a few practices, and he apparently had a great time.

Though he's a Florida kid, and Florida is recruiting him really hard right now, the vibes around his recruitment seemingly favor the Longhorns. He's not as "locked in" when it comes to potentially committing during his OV as Swanson and Thrower are, but we could totally see Ramsier surprising the Longhorns' staff with a pledge during his official visit on June 19th.
