DeAndre Moore Jr., WR

All offseason, DeAndre Moore Jr. was praised for his work ethic and team-first attitude. These traits shined through the first four games of the season, as Moore notched just four catches but was undoubtedly the best blocker on the outside.

In week five against Mississippi State, Moore's patience paid off. The sophomore from St. John Bosco (California) finished the win with a career-high four receptions for 103 yards and two touchdowns.

As Jordan Whittington proved, just because you excel at doing the dirty work does not mean you are not an elite pass catcher.

Moore is often compared to Whittington for a variety of reasons. If he wants to live up to those comparisons, he will shine in Red River. In four games against Oklahoma, Whittington averaged seven receptions for 78 yards, including a 10-catch, 115-yard performance last year.

Despite not being a full participant in practice before the Mississippi State game, Moore still finished with 31 offensive snaps (28 out of the slot). He has established himself as this team's No. 1 slot receiver and should continue to see an uptick in snaps.

According to wide receivers coach Chris Jackson, Moore is the defacto captain of the receiver room. Texas captains rise to the challenge against the team from up north.
