Texas's offense is doomed against the better defensive lines in the SEC

A lack of a true rhythm for Texas's offense against Georgia cost the Longhorns this game. Ewers wasn't ready to push the ball downfield a ton in the passing game for Texas, which allowed the Georgia defensive backs and linebackers to pin their ears back more often and come at the quarterback to rattle the pocket.

Texas also couldn't stretch the field enough to establish a solid ground game and a balanced offensive gameplan. Georgia was clearly ready for everything Texas had to throw at it from an offensive perspective, regardless if it was with the zone ground game or the short passing game and screens to get try to get UT's skill guys out in space.

Sarkisian has emphasized physicality in the trenches this season and aggressive-minded play-calling. But it didn't matter since Smart and the Dawgs were well prepared and could handle anything the Longhorns tried in the first half.

Another thing that cost the Longhorns in this game offensively was the poor efficiency on money downs. Texas left meat on the bone on multiple key drives that could've changed this game offensively for the Longhorns, really in the first half. The Longhorns only converted on 3-of-19 attempts on third and fourth downs combined in this game.

If the Longhorns want to find success in reaching their goals for the SEC Championship Game and the 12-team College Football Playoff, this team must be better at moving the chains when the offense finds itself behind the sticks on third and fourth down.
