Texas Football returns to the gridiron against the Kentucky Wildcats this Saturday at DKR-Texas Memorial Stadium. It will be the Longhorns' final home game this season. It will get emotional as fans will get to say goodbye to the seniors on Senior Day. The Longhorns escaped the Arkansas Razorbacks with a win last weekend as they got their revenge from 2021. The Longhorns have learned their mistakes from last weekend and look to beat the Wildcats this week.
Like I've said in past weeks, there could be a game with obscene stats on any given Saturday. Knowing how good the Longhorns' offense is, multiple players could have some career games against the Wildcats.
Isaiah Bond could have a career-high in receiving yards. Quintrevion Wisner could have multiple 20+ yard runs against the Wildcats. Here are four bold predictions for the Longhorns against the Wildcats this weekend.
Bold predictions for Texas football vs. Kentucky: 4. Isaiah Bond could have huge day
After having 48 receiving yards against the Razorbacks last weekend, Bond is due for a massive production on offense. I predict that Bond will have over 100 yards receiving against the Wildcats. His speed will cause issues for the Wildcats' secondary.
SEC Teams have realized how big of a threat he is and have tried to shut him down. Even though he doesn't stand out on the stat sheet, he attracts attention, which gets other receivers open for touchdowns. Now, it's his turn to have some production against the Wildcats.
3. Quintrevion Wisner running away with the football
Sophomore running back Quintrevion Wisner is one of the top running backs the Longhorns have on their team. We could see Wisner run for over 125 yards on Saturday. When CJ Baxter tore his ACL before the season, I thought the Longhorns' running game would be gone.
However, Wisner has filled that role for the Longhorns this season. It will be interesting to see how many carries he will get in a game next year. For now, Wisner is the lead running back for the Longhorns.
2. Sack party at DKR this weekend
Now, let's get to some bold predictions about the defense. My first bold prediction for the Longhorns' defense is that Wildcats junior quarterback Brock Vandagriff will be sacked upwards of seven times. It's plausible after watching the defensive line against Taylen Green last weekend.
Freshman EDGE Colin Simmons has been a threat against every SEC team this season. If you watched him last week against Arkansas, he was finding his way to Green to sack him. Vandagriff won't be able to sit for long in the backfield against the Longhorns.
1. Jahdae Barron has a couple interceptions
Senior defensive back Jahdae Barron made his presence felt against the Razorbacks last weekend. He helped set up the first score of the game for the Longhorns with an interception. My last bold prediction is he could have multiple interceptions against the Wildcats.
He will be one of the seniors honored on Saturday. The Longhorns will miss his experience in the backfield next season. They will need two more solid games from him if the Longhorns want to make the SEC Championship game.
