4 key 2025 flip targets visiting for Texas vs. Georgia

No. 1 Texas has an insane group of elite visiting recruits, including multiple blue chips from the 2025 class, set to make the trip to Austin for the Georgia game in roughly 48 hours from now.

Malcolm Simpson, DL (Nebraska commit)

One of the only defensive line visitors for the Longhorns from the 2025 class who doesn't yet hold an offer is Galveston (TX) Hitchcock four-star and Nebraska Cornhuskers commit Malcolm Simpson.

The blue-chip defensive lineman from Southeast Texas is making his second gameday trip to Austin for a Longhorns game since he took an unofficial visit for the UL-Monroe game on Sep. 21 (per OTF's Gerry Hamilton).

Texas has been courting Simpson on the recruiting trail pretty consistently this fall for the 2025 class. Despite committing to Nebraska during the summer, the Longhorns have stayed in regular communication with Simpson for the past couple of months. Baker and Co. also visited Simpson recently at Hitchcock High School during Texas's bye week a few weeks ago.

The USC Trojans and Texas are the two P4 schools currently pushing the most to try and chip away at Simpson's commitment to Nebraska this fall on the trail.

Last weekend, Simpson took an unofficial gameday visit out to Southern California to see the Trojans host the Penn State Nittany Lions in an overtime thriller in Big Ten play.

The Georgia game this weekend will be Texas's turn to make a big impression on Simpson, during his second unofficial trip to Austin in the past four or five weeks. I think if Texas really pushes here, it has a good chance at eventually flipping Simpson's commitment from the Huskers before signing day in early December.
