Joseph Mbatchou, DL (Florida commit)

This is an enormous weekend for Texas's defensive line recruiting efforts in the 2025 class for the Georgia game. Texas and defensive line coach Kenny Baker host multiple official and unofficially visiting defensive tackle prospects in the 2025 class, many of which are key flip targets currently committed to other P4 schools.

One of the top flip targets from the 2025 class along the defensive line officially visiting the Longhorns for the Georgia game this weekend is four-star Florida Gators commit Joseph Mbatchou. The athletic 6-foot-5 and 280-pound defensive lineman from Loganville (GA) Grayson High School is making his first return visit to Texas for a gameday trip to Austin since Sep. 14 against UTSA.

Mbatchou's trip to Texas this weekend is the first of three official visits he has scheduled before signing day in late October and November. He's also scheduled to see the Auburn Tigers (Nov. 1) and Florida (Nov. 15) before signing day in early December.

Since Texas will have gotten Mbatchou to campus for two gameday trips to DKR in the past five weeks, I think there's a good chance that the Longhorns creep closer toward a potential flip from the Gators before signing day. We will know more about Texas's chances to flip Mbatchou from Florida after the conclusion of each official visit over the course of the next four weeks.
