Texas continues to be the favorite landing spot for blue-chip 2027 OT Brian Swanson from South Oak Cliff HS in Dallas, TX.

The 6'5", 315-pound bulldozer is one of the better run-blocking tackles in the class, and it's no secret that this is one of the main reasons why both Steve Sarkisian and Kyle Flood are hot on his tail, and have been for quite a while.

Swanson has been visiting Texas unofficially since 2024, and his officially visit is scheduled for June 12th, 2026. Quite a few people believe that he'll either commit during his OV, or shortly after based on how often he's been on campus and his relationship with the coaching staff.

He was also just officially predicted to Texas by a member of On3 on May 6th.

Swanson's always been described as a Texas "lean", but the feeling around his recruitment right now seems like he's closer to that of a lock by multiple members of Longhorns media and different recruiting platforms.

Swanson has an excellent relationship with Texas OL Coach Kyle Flood, and it's been getting stronger and stronger with time. Swanson has also mentioned that he's a big fan of Flood's consistent ability to send offensive linemen to the NFL, which is obviously a pretty big goal of his.

If the vibes around Brian Swanson's recruitment and the way he's feeling are true, then his commitment could be coming within the next month or so. He would be an excellent get in the 2027 class, and his potential ability to play both offensive guard and/or offensive tackle could provide Texas' offensive line with some much-needed flexibility going forward.
