4 takeaways from Texas's dismantling of OU
Texas goes into the Georgia game with momentum
Next weekend, Sarkisian and the Longhorns have their biggest home game of the season at DKR against the No. 5 Georgia Bulldogs under the lights in primetime.
The atmosphere will be electric at DKR in Austin next weekend for the Texas-Georgia game. ESPN's College GameDay announced it will be in Austin next weekend for the Texas-Georgia matchup under the lights at DKR. This will also be the same weekend where the F1 race and an Eminem concert will be in Austin.
This matchup between Texas and Georgia will have implications for the SEC Championship Game and for the College Football Playoff seeding for next weekend.
After slow starts for both teams on Saturday afternoon, the Longhorns and Dawgs rolled over their respective opponents. Georgia was barely leading Mississippi State around halftime before blowing their game open in the third quarter.
Texas also took until the second quarter to blow their lead open against a hapless Oklahoma offense. It was all Longhorns after the scoring spark in the second quarter before halftime for Texas's offense.
Sarkisian didn't ever take his foot off the gas, as the Longhorns continued to widen the score later in the second half. Texas has an aggressive mindset and looks ready for the challenge next weekend against head coach Kirby Smart and the Dawgs on Oct. 19.
Texas has to feel good about its squad after Ewers didn't even reach 200 passing yards outside of garbage time, and the Longhorns still won this game by this big of a margin.
