The only underclassmen for the Longhorns who participated in the walkthrough ceremonies on Senior Day last week for the win over Kentucky was junior quarterback Quinn Ewers.

We've already discussed the reporting from a couple of weeks ago that Ewers is expected to enter the 2025 NFL Draft next spring. Ewers participating in Senior Day last week all but confirms the notion that he is likely to enter the draft next offseason for the NFL.

The plan for Ewers this fall was to come back to Texas for the 2024 season to boost his draft stock and potentially help lead the Longhorns on offense to the SEC Championship title and a national title run in the 12-team College Football Playoff this postseason.

Despite facing various injury issues this fall, including an oblique strain that caused him to miss multiple games earlier this season, Ewers and the Longhorns still have all those goals within reach in late November and December.

If Ewers can finish out this season at Texas with a strong postseason run and potentially an SEC Championship, that could drastically boost his stock for the NFL Draft next year. He still has something to prove regarding his ability to stay healthy and perform consistently for his team for NFL scouts over the next month or two.
