Tacario Davis, CB (Arizona)
The No. 1 rated transfer cornerback, according to 247Sports, currently available in the winter portal window is former Arizona Wildcats junior transfer Tacario Davis.
Despite Arizona falling short of expectations this season under first-year head coach Brent Brennan, Davis had a productive season for the Wildcats' defense. In Arizona's first season in the Big 12, it tied for second-to-last in the Big 12 standings with two wins in conference play and seven losses.
Davis saw his tackle numbers nearly double and his number of defensive stops rise by a multiplier of five in 2024 for the Wildcats' secondary, registering a career-high 44 tackles, 15 defensive stops, two tackles for loss, and six pass breakups.
The struggles Arizona's defense faced this fall reflected in the decline in Davis' pass breakups and defensive grade since 2023. He registered a career-high and Pac-12-leading 15 pass breakups and 84.2 defensive grade last season (per PFF).
Former Arizona defensive coordinator Johnny Nansen could help maximize Davis' skill set with the Longhorns' defensive secondary if he were hypothetically to join Texas via the portal for the upcoming offseason.
