Javian Osborne, Forney (TX) 2026 RB
Few running backs in the 2026 class have received as much priority treatment by Tashard Choice on the recruiting trail for as long as Forney (TX) blue-chip Javian Osborne. The main battle to land the No. 2 running back recruit in Texas in the 2026 class in the 247Sports Composite is between Texas and the Michigan Wolverines.
Choice visited Osborne at his home early this week before the elite running back recruit is set to make the trip to Austin this weekend for Junior Day.

This weekend will be Osborne's first return trip to Austin since he made multiple gameday trips to see Texas play last fall.
Texas cracked the list of Osborne's top 10 finalist schools that he dropped on social media earlier this month. He also included the Texas A&M Aggies, Florida State Seminoles, Tennessee Volunteers, Alabama Crimson Tide, Notre Dame Fighting Irish, Oregon Ducks, Georgia Bulldogs, SMU Mustangs, and Michigan among his finalist schools in the top 10.
Zane Rowe, Denton (TX) Guyer 2027 EDGE
Former high-four-star 2027 Oklahoma Sooners edge rusher/defensive line commit Zane Rowe is one of Texas's top early targets to watch for that cycle this offseason. Texas was one of the early P4 schools that offered Rowe back during the 2023 offseason.
He told On3 that he trains with star Texas defensive players, including edge rusher Colin Simmons and linebacker Anthony Hill Jr.
Rowe decommitted from the Sooners a couple of weeks ago on Jan. 6. Texas and Texas A&M have been the two schools pushing the hardest in this recruitment for Rowe in the past year or so on the trail.
Last weekend, Rowe took an unofficial visit to College Station to see head coach Mike Elko and the Aggies.
This recruitment feels like it will boil down to a big battle on the trail between Texas, Texas A&M, and Oklahoma.
