5 key recruits impressed by Texas's dominance vs. Florida
Mark Bowman, TE
The No. 1 tight end recruit in the nation in the 2027 class in the 247Sports Composite and On3 Industry Ranking, Mater Dei's (CA) Mark Bowman, made his first gameday trip to Texas last weekend for the Florida game.
Texas did a great job getting the tight ends involved in the offense in different ways in the win over Florida last weekend, including in the blocking game and intermediate and downfield targets from the passing game. Bowman got to talk with the Texas tight ends after the game, giving him a good understanding of how he and his skill set could fit in with the Longhorns' offense.
After the visit, Bowman said that Texas is "favorite school right now". Texas really made a positive impression on Bowman and his family with this successful gameday visit. Jeff Banks and Steve Sarkisian deserve a lot of credit for getting their foot in the door early in this recruitment for the California elite tight end prospect, Bowman.
Jaime Ffrench, WR
One of the highest-rated Texas commitments from the 2025 class that the Longhorns hosted for the Florida game last weekend was five-star Jacksonville (FL) Mandarin wide receiver Jaime Ffrench.
Ffrench made his first return visit to Texas since he also saw the Longhorns on a gameday trip in October. He continues to be fully engaged and locked-in with his commitment to the Longhorns this fall in the 2025 class.
Seeing all the different ways Sarkisian and the Longhorns got the vast array of different skill weapons in the receiving corps involved on offense really impressed Ffrench. Texas's pass offense lit up the Florida defense for over 325 passing yards, five passing touchdowns, and no interceptions, behind a massive day from quarterback Quinn Ewers.
