No. 1 Texas football and head coach Steve Sarkisian blasted the No. 18 Oklahoma Sooners and head coach Brent Venables in the Red River Rivalry game at the Cotton Bowl in Dallas on Oct. 12. Sarkisian and Texas stayed undefeated after the season's first six games after a dominant 34-3 victory over Oklahoma in Red River this weekend.

Multiple key Texas football recruits liked what they saw from the Longhorns in the Red River Rivalry game win in Week 7

It is the first time in well over a decade that the Longhorns have started out 6-0 (since 2009). The win over Oklahoma in Week 7 also leaves Texas as the sole remaining undefeated team in the SEC entering a massive matchup in Austin at DKR next weekend against the No. 5 Georgia Bulldogs and head coach Kirby Smart.

Not only were multiple key recruits for the Longhorns in the 2025, 2026, and 2027 classes paying close attention to Red River this weekend, but a handful of them were also in attendance as Oklahoma viistors for the game at the Cotton Bowl yesterday.

Here are five key recruits for the Longhorns in the 2025 and 2026 classes who were impressed by the blowout 31-point win over Oklahoma in Red River on Oct. 12.

Michael Terry III, ATH

The top-ranked athlete recruit in the nation in the 2025 class in the 247Sports Composite and On3 Industry Ranking, San Antonio (TX) Alamo Heights five-star Michael Terry III, is one of the top remaining priority recruits for the Longhorns in this cycle this fall. Terry has been trending positively for Texas on the recruiting trail in the past few months.

Texas continues to hold the pole position in this recruitment for Terry with an important visit upcoming next weekend unofficially for him to see Austin for a second time this season on a gameday at DKR.

On3's Steve Wiltfong reported on Oct. 13 that Terry is impressed by the Longhorns ahead of his critical gameday visit to Texas next weekend for the Georgia game.

Terry loved seeing the performance of the Longhorns players on both sides of the ball in a total-team effort in the double-digit win over Oklahoma. He also reportedly wasn't surprised to see the result on the field of Texas handily defeating the Sooners this weekend.
