5 key recruits impressed by Texas's win vs. Kentucky
Michael Fasusi, OT (OU commit)
Fasusi was the headlining recruit visiting Texas for the Kentucky game this weekend. Between the play of Texas's offensive line moving bodies off the line of scrimmage for the running backs to have a big day on the ground to seal the win over Kentucky, or the tremendous atmosphere at DKR on Senior Day, Fasusi had a great time during his unofficial gameday visit to Austin yesterday.
On3's Steve Wiltfong reported on Nov. 23 that Fasusi was impressed by watching the Longhorns "run away from Kentucky on the field" during his gameday visit to DKR this weekend.
Texas rushed for a season-high 250 yards on the ground, largely thanks to the efforts of the Texas offensive line yesterday against Kentucky's defensive front.
Fasusi will see Texas play multiple times before signing day in early December. After making the trip to Austin this weekend to see the Longhorns defeat Kentucky, he's set to take an unofficial gameday visit to College Station next weekend to see Texas face Texas A&M at Kyle Field.
We'll know more about the status of Fasusi's commitment to Texas, and the realistic chances that he flips from Oklahoma to either the Longhorns or the Aggies after the Texas-Texas A&M game visit to College Station next weekend.
Anthony Davis Jr., LB
Highly touted four-star 2026 Loganville (GA) Grayson linebacker Anthony Davis Jr. made his first gameday visit to Texas since the Longhorns offered him this past summer, for the Kentucky game this weekend. Texas made a big impression on Davis in multiple regards during his visit for the Kentucky game yesterday.
Not only did the Longhorns make an impression on Davis with their play on the field in the double-digit win over Kentucky this weekend, but they also got some recognition by landing a commitment from Mbatchou in the 2025 class.
Texas now has two of Davis's teammates at Grayson High School committed to their 2025 recruiting class, including Mbatchou and four-star offensive tackle Nick Brooks.
"I liked them already, but after this visit, the interest has definitely increased. The coaches made sure I knew I am a priority for them."
- Anthony Davis Jr.
Per On3, Davis spent time with Texas co-defensive coordinator/LB coach Johnny Nansen during the visit yesterday. He was blown away by the hospitality and the play of the defense, holding Kentucky's offense to just one touchdown, in the win.
Davis included the Longhorns among his top 12 finalist schools that he announced on social media on Sep. 10.
