Quintrevion Wisner will be the clear RB1

Sarkisian and the Longhorns found a lot of success on the ground in this game with the outside run play. Outside runs accounted for over 90 percent of Texas's rushing yards and over seven yards per carry against Oklahoma's defense yesterday.

By utilizing sophomore running back Quintrevion Wisner's speed to get to the outside, and some solid run blocking to seal the edge by offensive tackles Kelvin Banks Jr. and Cam Williams, Texas was able to get a solid rhythm going on the ground after the game's first 20 minutes.

Wisner gashed the Sooner defense for multiple explosive run plays in the second and third quarters, including the touchdown that wound up breaking the game open before halftime for a 43-yard score.

At one point just before halftime, Wisner was averaging over a dozen yards per carry and already had nearly 100 rushing yards on around a half-dozen rush attempts.

Wisner finished up Red River with a game-high 118 rushing yards on just 13 attempts (over nine yards per carry), and one rushing score. He would've had two rushing touchdowns on explosive plays had it not been for Oklahoma safety Robert Spears-Jennings forcing a fumble near the end zone before halftime.

Senior wideout Silas Bolden made an incredible effort play to dive on the football in the end zone and get the touchdown on the fumble recovery for the Longhorns to put them up by multiple scores late in the second quarter.

Getting the ground game going was crucial to Texas's offense being able to find a good rhythm and put away Oklahoma essentially before the end of the third quarter of Red River. The consistent production from the ground game helped Texas balance the offense while Ewers was still shaking off some of the rust coming back from the abdominal strain injury for his first start since Week 3.
