During his recent unofficial visit to Tennessee on Saturday, 2027 5-star WR Easton Royal apparently had an excellent time meeting with the Volunteer players and coaching staff (unfortunately).
Though this may not mean anything in the long run, it's still unsettling to hear from the Longhorns' top 2027 commit. It's also important to note that he has an OV scheduled to Tennessee for June 5th, which would be his third official visit to schools other than Texas in 2026.

Should the Longhorns really be worried?
Royal appears to be loyal to Steve Sarkisian and Co., but it's concerning that he's continuing to physically visit other schools right now. It's understandable that he's doing his due diligence, and any of us would probably be doing the same thing, but let's hope he doesn't schedule too many more visits before National Signing Day.
The Longhorns definitely don't want to lose out on Royal, as he's one of the best playmakers in the 2027 class and has the speed to outrun most of the defensive backs that he'll face in college.
He has decent size at 5'11.5", 200 lbs., and moves like someone much lighter than that. He has the smoothness and speed of former Texas WR Xavier Worthy, but the size of Jordan Whittington. That could be an incredibly nasty combo at the collegiate level.

To be 100% honest, there's a decent chance that one of Ryan Wingo or Cam Coleman will leave for the NFL following an explosive season in 2026, and the Longhorns need to bring in as much talent as they possibly can to help streamline the depth and overall talent at the wide receiver position in the future.
Texas bringing in 5-star WR Jermaine Bishop in 2026, and possibly Royal in 2027, would undoubtedly give the team and fans something to be excited about in the future.
