Though everybody knew that week one's matchup between Texas and Ohio State would be incredibly jaw-dropping, nobody expected it to be record-setting from a viewership aspect.

A record-setting 18 million people watched the Texas vs. Ohio State game, which set a new bar for the most watched week one college football game in the history of the sport. That's absolutely insane.

If we're getting technical about it, the viewership peaked at around 18.6 million between 3:00pm-3:15pm on Saturday.

To give some comparisons, here are the other most-watched games of week one in 2025:

Notre Dame at Miami - 10.8 million

TCU at North Carolina - 6.1 million

Virginia Tech at South Carolina - 5.4 million
