All eyes on Texas as the Longhorns face Oklahoma on the national stage

Earlier this week it was announced that ESPN will be doing their women's college basketball pregame show from Austin as Texas takes on the Oklahoma Sooners.

You can say that Texas women's basketball has had a pretty impressive few years under Vic Schaefer. From the excellent recruiting classes that he's putting together, to the statement wins on the court, Texas can't seem to stop being in the headlines. Along with all the news about their brilliant recruiting class for next season, Texas will be put in the national spotlight when they take on the Oklahoma Sooners.

It was just announced that ESPN will host its pregame show at the Moody Center next Sunday, when the Longhorns host the Oklahoma Sooners. It will be the first time the pregame show is in Austin, and Christine Williamson, Andraya Carter, and Chiney Ogwumike will host the show. I'm sure they will be interviewing some of the ladies this week, leading up to the show. It will be a fun experience for the Longhorns, since the show hasn't been to Austin before.

One thing I want them to ask Vic Schaefer, if he gets interviewed, is how he will get playing time for all the incoming first-year students coming to Austin. They have the number one recruiting class in 2026, and I don't think anyone is going to come close to the talent that Schaefer has recruited. The Longhorns might have another monster season despite losing Rori Harmon, who has spent a long time with the Longhorns throughout her career. Senior day is going to be really painful since Schaefer and Harmon have been through a lot during their time here.

Even though the Longhorns don't play again until Tuesday night against the Florida Gators in Gainesville, it sure will be an amazing homecoming when they have ESPN's pregame show before they take on the Oklahoma Sooners in the Red River Rivalry. I will definitely be tuning into that game to see the Longhorns go up against a recruit they lost out on this past offseason, Aaliyah Chavez.

Make sure you tune into ESPN at 11 AM CT next Sunday for the pregame show.
