Fox Sports CFB analyst Joel Klatt listed his top 10 college football players heading into 2025, and both QB Arch Manning and LB Anthony Hill Jr. made the cut. Texas is the only team to have multiple players included on Klatt's list.
Arch Manning is entering the year with an incredible amount of pressure to perform at an elite level, and he's undoubtedly shown the potential to back up it in 2025. Though his opponents weren't particularly great in 2024, he still faced blue-chip defenders in two out of the three games that he got decent playing time in. Manning put on a passing clinic against Mississippi State last year, completing 83.9% of his passes for 325 yards and 2 touchdowns. He also rushed for 33 yards and a touchdown on the ground in Texas' 35-13 win.

He's been excellent in fall camp, showing off his arm strength, touch, and ability to throw accurately while on the run. Manning seems to be calm, cool, and collected right now and that speaks to his maturity as one of the top-flight quarterbacks in the league.
Hill Jr. is an absolute monster for any offense to deal with, being an elite blitzer (8 sacks in 2024) and tackler at the MIKE linebacker position. Texas DC Pete Kwiatkowski utilizes Hill all over the field and knows how to create personnel mismatches on a consistent basis. Hill's name has been included on almost every major defensive award watch list for the 2025 season, and there's a good chance that he'll be able to take home most of them this season.
His instincts and processing skills allow him to be around the ball 24/7, against both the run and pass. He rarely "bites" on play-action at the line of scrimmage and takes excellent angles to ball-carriers on a consistent basis. He was the heart and soul of the Longhorns' defense in 2024, and should continue to be until he decides to declare for the NFL Draft (most likely in 2026).
