CBS Sports recently released its 2025 preseason college football All-American teams, and two Texas Longhorns have been named on the 1st team defense.

Linebacker Anthony Hill Jr. and defensive end Colin Simmons are on every single All-American list heading into the 2025 season, and for good reason.

Anthony Hill Jr. is undoubtedly one of the top linebackers in the nation, and he was the heart and soul of Texas' defense in 2024. Longhorns DC Pete Kwiatkowski uses him all over the formation and for different things. One of his best qualities is his blitzing ability from the interior, which wreaked havoc in 2024 alongside Colin Simmons' penetrating prowess.

He finished the season with 113 tackles, 17 TFL, 8 sacks, 1 interception, 1 pass deflection, 4 forced fumbles, and 1 fumble recovery.

Simmons was an absolute nightmare for opposing offensive tackles and quarterbacks last season, racking up 48 tackles, 14 TFL, 9 sacks, 1 interception, 2 pass deflections, and 3 forced fumbles. It's insane that he was that college-ready as a true freshman in 2024, and the sky's the limit for Simmons in 2025.
