The No. 4 Texas Longhorns just secured the biggest win of the year (so far) with their 24-23 comeback victory over the No. 1 Ohio State Buckeyes.
So, there will undoubtedly be a shakeup in the AP Top 25 Poll after Week 2. However, was the Horns' victory enough to climb all three spots to be the top team in the country, or do too many other dominant teams still stand in the way?

The then-No. 4 Oregon Ducks were stunned when they made the trip to Stillwater, OK, and were bested by the Oklahoma State Cowboys, who had previously been on a 12-game losing streak and were upset by Tulsa in Week 1.
Similarly, to our enjoyment, the Oklahoma Sooners were stunned by a mediocre Michigan Wolverines team that was fresh off a "win" on a gifted Hail Mary against Western Michigan.
The Louisville Cardinals and the Houston Cougars both won their matchups but played cupcake opponents and have yet to prove that they deserve to climb any higher in the rankings.

The Missouri Tigers stayed steady in Week 2, as did the Utah Utes and Washington Huskies. The Iowa Hawkeyes secured their rivalry win over the Iowa State Cyclones in classic CyHawk fashion (a three-point victory).
The Tennessee Volunteers looked impressive against Georgia Tech, and the Horns undeniably cannot overlook that matchup in just a couple of weeks.

13. SMU Mustangs (2-0)
12. BYU Cougars (2-0)

The Penn State Nittany Lions continued to look more like the perennial team they are, as the BYU Cougars and SMU Mustangs continued to cement themselves as genuine Power Conference contenders.
The Texas Tech Red Raiders had a close call against the Oregon State Beavers, who had previously been on a 2-11 overall streak, but pulled off the win to get to 2-0 on the year.
The USC Trojans closed out the night's activities with a convincing win over the Louisiana Ragin' Cajuns to also improve to 2-0.
After a shaky start against a new-era Kentucky Wildcats, the Alabama Crimson Tide put the pedal to the floor and secured a 45-17 victory to improve to 2-0 overall and 1-0 in SEC play. With the win, they will likely break into the top 10 after entering Week 2 as the No. 12 team.
While we may hate it, the Texas A&M Aggies looked good against the Arizona State Sun Devils, and while ASU wasn't ranked, it was still a Power Conference victory for TAMU. The 48-20 victory will likely push the Ags up a spot to No. 9 in the AP Poll.
The Ole Miss Rebels' defense seemed to find its footing, and the offense hit its stride in Week 2, securing a 41-9 win over Charlotte. Just like A&M, the Rebs will likely move up a spot to No. 8.
After a horrendous start by LSU quarterback Sam Leavitt, the Tigers and head coach Lane Kiffin took over their interstate battle against LA Tech. With the 45-14 win, the LSU Tigers will move up a spot to No. 7 on Sunday.
Ohio State still looked incredible against the Longhorns, and it was a top-four matchup at the end of the day. However, the Buckeyes still blew a 20-point lead and suffered their first loss, likely dropping them from No. 1 to No. 6 in the rankings.
Once again, the Miami Hurricanes looked like one of the best teams in the country, but they were only playing the Florida A&M Aggies, so they won't be leapfrogging any other undefeated teams and will just move up a spot to break into the top five.
The defending National Champions seem to still be in a class of their own, but they have yet to go through any real test. The Indiana Hoosiers' 55-0 win over Howard was great, but only enough to move up one spot.
In another Week 2 shutout victory, the Notre Dame Fighting Irish clobbered the Rice Owls to secure a 52-0 win and improve to Week 2, almost certainly keeping them within the top three of the AP Top 25 Poll.
The Georgia Bulldogs' offense was seemingly unstoppable as it racked up 70 points against the Western Kentucky Hilltoppers, but the Dawgs also allowed the non-Power Conference team to put up 20 points against them. So, they're staying at No. 2 this week.
You know what that means: the Texas Longhorns are the No. 1 team in the nation this week.
While this is an incredible achievement, which almost always happens with a win over the previous No. 1 team, it also puts a target on the Horns' back.
More than ever, teams will want to defeat Texas, and that means Steve Sarkisian, Arch Manning, and the rest of the program will have to be as good as ever as the rest of the year unfolds.
