Everyone knew that Texas QB Arch Manning was going to be pretty high up in the Heisman odds heading into 2026, but it appears that he's now competing with Ole Miss' Trinidad Chambliss for the top spot.
He's competed with several different quarterbacks and wide receivers throughout the offseason, but this is the first time that Trinidad Chambliss' name has popped up near the top since he was granted another year of eligibility by the court.
According to the SEC Network's Cole Cubelic, a few things have changed in the recent odds update.
Updated Heisman odds for 2026 (top 15)
1. QB Arch Manning 6/1
2. QB Trinidad Chambliss 13/2
3. QB CJ Carr 15/2
4. QB Dante Moore 10/1
5. QB Josh Hoover 10/1
6. QB Julian Sayin 12/1
7. QB Sam Leavitt 13/1
8. QB Jayden Maiava 14/1
9. WR Jeremiah Smith 14/1
10. QB Darian Mensah 15/1
11. QB John Mateer 16/1
12. QB Gunner Stockton 18/1
13. QB LaNorris Sellers 18/1
14. WR Malachi Toney 22/1
15. QB Brendan Sorsby 25/1
Based on pure talent and hype, it's completely understandable to see Chambliss at No.2 now, but C.J. Carr in the top five still seems so odd. Yes, he was pretty good in 2025 for a freshman, but he hasn't done anything above and beyond what he was supposed to do for ND. For Carr to be ahead of Julian Sayin, who was much more impressive for Ohio State last season, is crazy. Even Sam Leavitt at LSU is lightyears better than Carr when fully healthy, but I digress.
Overall, this is a pretty solid list for the top 15 right now, and it'll be interesting to see how things change in the spring.
