The 2027 NFL Draft is now under a year away, and, as expected, Texas quarterback Arch Manning has been the focus of almost everybody's projected No. 1 overall pick.
As experts and analysts continue to list Manning as their obvious choice for the first pick of next year's draft, the oddsmakers have jumped aboard the hype train.
On Monday, April 27 (also known as Manning's birthday), FanDuel Sportsbook released its opening odds for which player would be the No. 1 pick in the 2027 NFL Draft, and the Texas Longhorns' QB1 was the runaway favorite.
Opening odds for 2027 NFL Draft No. 1 pick
- Arch Manning, Texas QB, +160
- Dante Moore, Oregon QB, +600
- Jeremiah Smith, Ohio State WR, +600
- CJ Carr, Notre Dame QB, +600
- Julian Sayin, Ohio State QB, +1200
- LaNorris Sellers, South Carolina QB, +1200
- Drew Mestemaker, Oklahoma State QB, +1500
- Colin Simmons, Texas LB, +2000
- Jayden Maiava, USC QB, +2000
- Dylan Stewart, South Carolina LB, +2000
Odds are from FanDuel Sportsbook and are liable to change at any time.
Manning has +160 odds to become the No. 1 pick, followed not-very-closely by a three-way tie between Oregon quarterback Dante Moore, Ohio State wide receiver Jeremiah Smith, and Notre Dame quarterback CJ Carr, all of whom have +600 odds.
Ohio State quarterback Julian Sayin, who PFF listed as the No. 2 overall player on its way-too-early Big Board, is tied for fifth with South Carolina QB LaNorris Sellers at +1200 odds.
Fellow Texas Longhorn, linebacker Colin Simmons, is also in the top-10 at +2000, tying him for eighth in the opening odds.
While the 2027 season is still months away from kicking off, if everything goes according to plan (and expectations) for Manning and the Longhorns, the Texas quarterback will almost undoubtedly hear his name called first in next year's NFL Draft.
The only hang-up? He might hear his name called by the New York Jets, a graveyard for quarterbacks and the in-town rival of his uncle Eli Manning's New York Giants.
The 2027 NFL Draft is set to take place in Washington, D.C., hosted by the NFL's Washington Commanders. The exact dates have yet to be announced.
