Along with a few other exciting topics regarding multiple position groups, Coach Sark discussed Arch Manning's overall progress throughout spring practice.
The three main things that stood out were his praise for WR Sterling Berkhalter and how he's drastically improved the offense's 50-50 ball success rate in practice, RB Derrek Cooper's impressive performance so far, and Manning's seemingly accelerated recovery.
Sarkisian said that Arch has been throwing and participating in a limited capacity in pretty much everything so far, taking a bulk of snaps in group drills, 7-on-7's, and offense-only practices.
This is an incredibly important note, as there was a lot of information circulating suggesting he may not be ready to drop back and throw until the summer. Based on where he is right now, I think it's pretty safe to say that he's much further along in his rehab process than originally projected.
Though it's been exciting and intriguing to watch K.J. Lacey take all of the first-team reps at quarterback throughout the spring, it's incredibly comforting to see how well Manning is progressing from the injury. At this rate, Arch could be back and taking most of the work at QB within the next month or so, which would obviously mean that Lacey would drop back down to the second unit. On a positive note for Lacey, we now know that he's the locked-in No.2 QB for this team, and he's looked phenomenal so far.

Texas football came into spring with a goal of figuring out who their QB2 is going to be in 2026, and they've undoubtedly figured that how with how well Lacey's been performing over the past few weeks.
One of the biggest topics amongst the fanbase has been Manning's lack of work and cohesion with Cam Coleman, and though it's a valid storyline, it sounds like it'll be working itself out sooner rather than later.
