Texas football fans already know the names of stars like Colin Simmons, Ethan Burke, and other edge rushers for the Longhorns. However, head coach Steve Sarkisian is looking to add yet another talented prospect at the position.

Over the past week, the No. 5 edge rusher in the class of 2026 visited the Horns as well as two other perennial programs, adding pressure to Texas to vie for his attention. Luke Wafle, the No. 5 EDGE and No. 1 athlete out of the state of New Jersey, visited Texas, USC, and Oklahoma over the last week.

Will Luke Wafle commit to the Longhorns?

Wafle, a four-star prospect, has repeatedly been crystal-balled to the Penn State Nittany Lions or Michigan Wolverines but has yet to shut down his recruitment process. Currently, On3 gives the Horns a 12.9 percent chance to land Wafle's commitment, giving just a 2.7 percent chance to the Oklahoma Sooners and a 0 percent chance to the USC Trojans.
