Despite most of the offseason excitement being centered around new Texas WR Cam Coleman, there's at least one other offensive addition who should be drawing just as much hype.
When former Western Kentucky OG Laurence Seymore committed to Texas, the news was met with some uncertainty, as he wasn't the "biggest name" in the 2026 transfer portal when it comes to the offensive line. Though this is definitely true, his presence could be more apparent and impactful to the team than somebody like Cam Coleman in year one with the Longhorns.
How the heck is that possible?

The elephant-sized problem with the offense in 2025 wasn't the pass-catchers, though dropped balls were a big problem as well; it was the offensive line. More specifically, the interior offensive line. Arch Manning couldn't sit in the pocket for more than two full seconds without being hit, and this usually resulted in a rushed throw or a sack.
The offensive tackle play in 2025 was much better than the outside world depicted it to be, and Steve Sarkisian and Co. desperately needed to fix the interior this offseason. Though more acquisitions could still be made, the staff did a great job getting both Dylan Sikorski and Laurence Seymore to commit.
Sikorski is more of a developmental guy who could see a bulk of the action in 2027, but Seymore should be able to step in right away at left or right guard and be impactful. He was one of the best pass-blocking OL in the nation in 2024 and 2025, surrendering only one sack in 668 total pass protection snaps for WKU and Akron.
Adding another weapon for Arch Manning was definitely a mission this offseason, but solidifying an offensive line that almost lost the team two games (if not more) by itself in 2025 was the main goal.
