One of the Longhorns' newest additions is also being viewed as a top player at their position heading into 2026.

Though DE Colin Simmons has been the face of Texas' defense this offseason, and for good reason, another Longhorns defender has been gaining momentum in the national media recently. One of Texas' biggest transfer portal additions, LB Rasheem Biles, has been officially ranked as the No.2 linebacker in PFSN's early 2027 NFL Draft rankings.

He's slightly undersized at 6'1", 220 lbs., but his top-notch athleticism and elite processing skills are consistently displayed on film. Biles' movement skills are also second to none at linebacker, and his ability to sift through traffic is what makes him such an intriguing prospect for NFL organizations.

It's going to be incredibly interesting to see how new DC Will Muschamp uses Biles in 2026, seeing as how he's a surprisingly good blitzer and coverage player. He has the body of a WILL linebacker, but the movement skills and athleticism of a strong safety.

Muschamp loves to use Swiss-army-knife-type players like Biles because it takes pressure off the secondary in the short to intermediate levels of the field.

One of the main reasons why Rasheem Biles is getting more and more love from scouts and the media recently is due to the simple fact that he displays all of the traits that NFL coaches like to see in a pro linebacker, besides not having "ideal" size.

Just like PFSN's graphic shows, the only other player at the position who can do the types of things that Biles can do is Clemson's Sammy Brown, who sits at No.1 in their current rankings. It's hard to see Biles unseating Brown at No.1 simply due to Brown's run-stopping ability and physicality, but there's a very good chance that Biles retains his spot in the top two or three throughout the 2026 season and beyond.
