This past fall, we broke down the top Texas basketball prospects for the 2025 NBA Draft on the team's roster for this 2024-25 season. After the season's first 21 games, I'm updating the draft projections that I originally came up with last October, as we're roughly six months out from the 2025 NBA Draft this summer.

Texas is bound to snap its four-year-long streak without having an NBA Draft pick this upcoming summer for the 2025 draft class. The last time a Longhorns player was picked in the two rounds of the NBA Draft was power forward Greg Brown III, who was selected 43rd overall by the Charlotte Hornets in the 2021 draft.

Here's an updated look at out 2025 NBA Draft projections for the Longhorns almost halfway into SEC play for the 2024-25 regular season.

Tre Johnson, G

Freshman guard Tre Johnson has lived up to the hype so far during his true freshman campaign this season for Texas. Johnson is on pace to become the seventh freshman ever to lead the SEC in scoring. He's sparked Texas offense game in and game out, scoring in double figures in all but one game he's played for the Longhorns this season.

Johnson's great handles, smooth shooting stroke, and ability to command the offense playing at any position in the backcourt or on the wing has elevated his draft stock in the past few months. He's shown that he can make tough shots, finish through contact, and effectively distribute the basketball as the primary ball-handler on the offensive end.

The biggest question marks for Johnson's draft stock are on the defensive end of the floor. There are questions regarding his rebounding ability and switchability on defense.

The latest 2025 NBA Mock Draft from Bleacher Report this week compared Johnson to former New York Knicks shooting guard Allan Houston, as a lottery pick for the first round.

Updated projection: Top-10 pick (previously: lottery pick)

Tramon Mark, G

Senior guard Tramon Mark has started to find his game more on the offensive end of the floor in the past few weeks to start SEC play. After averaging just north of eight points per game during the non-con, Mark is averaging around 10 points per game while shooting a career-high 39.1 percent from deep in SEC play.

Mark has been clutch for the Longhorns this season. He scored the rivalry game-winning lay-up in the final seconds last weekend at the Moody Center against the No. 13 Texas A&M Aggies. Mark is also one of three guards for the Longhorns who average over two points per game in clutch time stats (per CBB Analytics).

The ability to shoot the basketball and efficiently hit from his looks from deep as an off-ball scoring threat could help Mark boost his draft stock for this upcoming offseason.

Updated projection: Late second round pick to undrafted (previously: late second round pick)

Arthur Kaluma, F

No Texas player has been more versatile or important on both ends of the floor this regular season for the Longhorns than senior forward Arthur Kaluma. The former Kansas State and Creigton transfer, Kaluma has played an important role as the Longhorns' top rebounder and a versatile inside and outside scorer offensively this season.

Shooting a career-high 44.6 percent from beyond the arc, 78 percent from the free-throw line, and north of 50 percent from the field has helped Kaluma transform his game in the mould of more of a modern and switchable forward on both ends of the floor.

Kaluma being able to extend his shooting range efficiently from beyond the arc has contributed to him becoming a potential late-second-round pick in the upcoming draft.

If Kaluma continues to contribute at a high level as a top two-way forward in the SEC during the conference tournament and the postseason for the Big Dance, he could build more draft hype for 2025 this summer.

Updated projection: Late second round pick to undrafted (Same projection)
