Despite not being a starter, as the Texas Longhorns dismantled the Michigan Wolverines in the Elite Eight, center Kyla Oldacre was the star of the show.

Oldacre amassed 12 points, 11 rebounds, three blocks, one assist, and one steal as the Horns surged to their 77-41 victory over the Wolverines and punched their ticket to the Final Four.

Now, with a monstrous opponent on the horizon in the UCLA Bruins, even usually quiet Oldacre is fired up and talking smack before Texas's next game.

UCLA boasts one of the best players in the country in their center, Lauren Betts, who played 37 of the 40 minutes in the two teams' regular-season meeting. Obviously, while playing the same position, Betts and Oldacre went head-to-head.

Ahead of the Final Four, the pair are shooting shots in each other's direction, building the anticipation (and animosity) between the two.

"I told [Betts] don't be crying to the refs, and she said don't be pinching," Oldacre told the press earlier this week about a conversation between her and the Bruin.

When the two last met, Betts only earned eight points, seven rebounds, and three assists, well below her season averages of 17.2 points, 8.6 rebounds, and 3.2 assists. She got called for three personal fouls in the matchup but went to the foul line a total of zero (yes, 0) times, despite complaining to officials throughout the game.

Coming off the bench, Oldacre only earned two points, two rebounds, two steals, and one block, also well below her season averages. She was also called for three personal fouls but earned her two points at the charity stripe, going 2-for-2 on free-throw attempts.

This season, Oldacre has averaged just over 21 minutes while coming off the bench, but has clearly made those minutes count, earning 10.4 points, 6.2 rebounds, 1.2 steals, and 1.2 blocks per appearance.

Of course, the regular-season meeting ended in an emphatic 76-65 victory for the Longhorns. This time around, the two centers clearly know what to expect from one another.

Oldacre subs into games for Texas's Breya Cunningham, who is technically listed as a forward despite playing the center role for the Horns.

Cunningham and Oldacre have become a dynamic duo in the paint for head coach Vic Schaefer, and they will both have to be at the absolute best as they combine to minimize Betts' impact on the matchup once again.
