Current Tennessee Titans tight end and former Longhorns football standout, Gunnar Helm, had an excellent game against the Falcons in the second week of preseason.

He showed a great rapport with fellow rookie quarterback Cam Ward over the first few series of the game, making tough catches and continuously finding ways to get open at the second-level. Though Ward didn't have the most success when on the field, quite a few of his attempts were to Helm.

Helm led the team in pretty much every receiving category on Friday, finishing the game with 4 catches for 48 yards to go along with an incredible touchdown catch.

Helm showed off his ability to be a legitimate, all-around tight end at the NFL level against Atlanta. Not only was he great as a receiver, but he also more than held his own as a run-blcker as well. At 6'5", 240 lbs., he has excellent size for the position, and even shows the potential to add 10 more pounds to his frame if he wanted or needed to.

Helm was officially tabbed by PFF as the highest-graded rookie tight end in the NFL on Monday once the scores came out.

It's no secret that the Titans have been desperately looking for a quarterback to help turn their franchise around over the past couple of seasons. They're hoping Cam Ward is that guy, and it's also possible that they've found another offensive weapon in the process with Gunnar Helm standing out this offseason.

It's going to be incredibly interesting to see if Helm ends up eating into some of Chig Okonkwo's playing time in 2025. There's no doubt that Helm will see the majority of 12P snaps, but he definitely has the talent and size to be an every-down player at the professional level.
