The Dallas Cowboys experienced a pretty big scare yesterday when former Texas Longhorns running back and 5th-round draft pick, Jaydon Blue, suffered a lower-body injury during practice. He was initially carted off the field, but was able to walk into the medical tent under his own power.
Blue has been one of the highlights of Cowboys training camp so far, breaking off explosive run after explosive run throughout summer practices in Dallas. His overall speed, vision, and ability to stop/start on a dime is what's made him standout amongst the Cowboys' other running backs so far.
On the Cowboys' first unofficial depth chart, he's currently listed as third behind veterans Javonte Williams and Miles Sanders. Depending on how Blue performs throughout the preseason, there's a good chance that he'll see most of the 3rd-down or passing-game work heading into the 2025 season.

Looks like he might be done for today. https://t.co/ggWn4i3Mok pic.twitter.com/Y5lgWdaHXa
Though his injury was scary, the MRI revealed that he only suffered a bone bruise to his heel. Thankfully for Dallas and Blue's 2025 outlook, the injury is much less severe than the team originally anticipated. His status is obviously doubtful for saturday's preseason game againt the Rams but as long as he stays off the foot, he should be ready to go within the next two weeks.
