Week 2's US LBM Coaches Poll was just released, and it comes with different levels of frustration by Longhorn Nation and the college football world. Texas officially drops down to No.6 from No.1, which is similar to the falling morale of the fanbase right now.

The official week 2 coaches' poll:

  1. Ohio State
  2. Penn State
  3. Georgia
  4. LSU
  5. Oregon
  6. Texas
  7. Miami
  8. Clemson
  9. Notre Dame
  10. Arizona State
  11. South Carolina
  12. Illinois
  13. Michigan
  14. Ole Miss
  15. Florida
  16. SMU
  17. Tennessee
  18. Iowa State
  19. Florida State
  20. Alabama
  21. Indiana
  22. Texas A&M
  23. Texas Tech
  24. Oklahoma
  25. BYU

After heading into the 2025 season with a head full of steam and motivation, Texas was immediately humbled by its opponent in week one. Though they'll definitely need to adjust some aspects of their offense going forward, it shouldn't be hard for them to get back on track over the next few weeks.

They play San Jose State, UTEP, and Sam Houston before their bye week, and if they don't come out of that slate at 3-0, there's a bigger problem than we think.

This Texas team needs to get some wins under its belt, regardless of the opponent, to boost everybody's morale leading up to conference play on October 4th when they face Florida in Gainesville.
