During the offseason, Texas head coach added some star power to the Longhorns' offense, including transfer running back Hollywood Smothers.

Smothers, who spent one year with the Oklahoma Sooners and two seasons with the NC State Wolfpack, has massive expectations looming overhead as he prepares for his first season with the Horns.

Those expectations just got a little bigger after Smothers signed a massive NIL deal with Fiterman Sports, a memorabilia company.

According to On3's Pete Nakos, who first broke the story, the NIL deal was a six-figure, multi-year deal.

Beyond memorabilia and merch, Fiterman also does bookings, podcasts, and meet-and-greet events. Working with athletes like Mike Tyson, Ric Flair, and more, Fiterman is a perfect company for a possible budding star to sign an NIL deal with.

Not to mention the fact that Fiterman Sports has already worked with a few legendary Texas football players.

Just three days after Smothers' NIL deal was announced, Fiterman Sports was hosting a meet-and-greet with none other than Vince Young, Earl Campbell, and Ricky Williams, three of the most beloved Longhorns of all time.

All three of their jersey numbers have been retired by the program, with Young's No. 10, Campbell's No. 20, and Williams' No. 34 on the wall of Darrell K Royal-Texas Memorial Stadium.

Beyond that, Williams and Campbell are two of the greatest running backs in Texas football history, both winning the Heisman Trophy while playing for the Horns. To be in the company of stars like this, exactly the kind of company a young player like Smothers should aim to stay in, is a massive tip of the cap.

While at Oklahoma, Smothers utilized his redshirt season, only recording 11 carries for 42 yards. During his two seasons at NC State, he earned a resounding 1,510 yards and 12 touchdowns. He also earned 452 receptions for three more touchdowns.

Sarkisian added Smothers to Texas's roster to beef up the offensive depth chart. The running back not only adds his on-ground abilities, but he is also an adept rush-blocker, providing additional protection for quarterback Arch Manning.
