Texas basketball (14-7, 3-5 SEC) is searching for a bounce-back victory in SEC play this weekend against the LSU Tigers (12-8, 1-6 SEC) in Baton Rouge.

This is the first matchup between Texas and LSU on the hardwood as SEC foes. The last time the Longhorns and Tigers met was last season in Houston in a double-digit win for Texas.

Here's a look at the TV/streaming information, game time, betting odds, and game prediction for LSU vs. Texas at the Pete Maravich Assembly Center in Baton Rouge, LA, on Feb. 1.

Texas vs. LSU prediction

I don't want to call this a must-win game for the Longhorns. But it does feel like the LSU game is the most winnable road contest remaining in SEC play this regular season. Texas's next two games are two opportunities for Quad 1 and 2 victories against LSU and the Arkansas Razorbacks at the Moody Center next week.

LSU is 1-2 in home conference games this season. The Tigers have allowed 78.4 points per game in SEC play.

Freshman guard Tre Johnson has averaged over 25 points per game for the Longhorns since the last-second thriller win over the No. 13 Texas A&M Aggies last weekend. If Johnson delivers another big game scoring the basketball on the offensive end against LSU, we could also see solid production from senior forward Arthur Kaluma and junior guard Jordan Pope.

A win here would get the Longhorns one game back closer to a .500 record in SEC play, and add another Quad 2 win to the NCAA Tournament resume against LSU.

Final score prediction: Texas-72, LSU-62
