Texas basketball (10-2, 0-0 SEC) and head coach Rodney Terry host the Northwestern State Demons (5-6, 2-0 Southland) for the final non-conference tune-up game at the Moody Center on Sunday before SEC play tips off on Jan. 4.

Texas steamrolled its last opponent at the Moody Center, putting up 98 points in a 30+ point victory over New Orleans in Austin on Dec. 19. Junior guard Jordan Pope sparked Texas's offensive outburst against New Orleans, scoring a career-high 42 points on 15-of-21 shooting from the field.

Northwestern State is no stranger to facing SEC teams on the road in the non-con this regular season, traveling to Norman and Baton Rouge to face Oklahoma and LSU on the road in November.

Terry and staff are looking for more identity and consistent effort and results on both ends of the floor coming out of the Christmas holiday break in the non-conference finale this weekend.

Here's a look at the TV/streaming information, game time, betting odds, and game prediction for the non-conference finale for Texas vs. Northwestern State at the Moody Center in Austin, TX, on Dec. 29.

Texas vs. Northwestern State prediction

Texas has not lacked scoring on offense during the Longhorns' three-game winning streak since mid-December. The Longhorns have scored at least 91 points and averaged over 100 points per game since Dec. 12 at the Moody Center in a win over the New Mexico State Aggies.

The health of freshman guard Tre Johnson and senior forward Jayson Kent for the Longhorns remains a question mark. It sounds like Johnson is expected to return from a hip injury for the start of SEC play on Jan. 4 against Texas A&M in College Station next weekend.

Kent has missed Texas's past eight games due to an upper-body injury.

Pope and senior forward Arthur Kaluma have both scored in double figures in Texas's past three games. Kaluma picked up his third double-double of the season and 11th of his career in college in Texas's 98-62 victory vs. the Privateers on Dec. 19.

Final score prediction: Texas-88, Northwestern State-68
