After defeating the Tennessee Volunteers, the Texas Longhorns advanced to the Elite Eight, where they would face their former Big 12 opponent, the TCU Horned Frogs. The No. 1-seed Horns and No. 2-seed Frogs are playing in the third Elite Eight game of the 2025 women's NCAA Tournament.

TCU has had a resurgence after having to forfeit games during last season due to a lack of available scholarship players. However, the No. 1 Texas squad looks to ruin their miraculous run.
