The Texas Longhorns women's soccer team is fresh off their first-ever SEC Tournament title, defeating the South Carolina Gamecocks 1-0, and is now marching through the NCAA Tournament.

Led by Holly Ward, who had a four-goal performance against Boston University in the first round, the Horns are sizing up the Michigan State Spartans for their second-round matchup.

Against Boston, the Horns conceded just one goal to the Terriers when the two teams faced off at Mike A. Myers Stadium in Austin. While Texas won't have the home-field advantage in the second round, the Longhorns have been an unstoppable force in the postseason.

In the SEC Tournament, the Horns had a first-round bye but blew past the LSU Tigers with a 3-0 win in the quarterfinals. Texas eked out a 2-1 victory in double overtime against the Arkansas Razorbacks in the semifinals and walked away with the 1-0 win over South Carolina in the championship game.

So far this year, Texas has gone 17-3-2 overall. The Longhorns' only losses all happened during the regular season and were to then-No. 24 Mississippi State, unranked Florida, and then-No.5 Arkansas.

Texas head coach Ange Kelly, who has been with the Longhorns for nearly 13 years, has made it a tradition for the team to get ice cream after a win, which has carried into the postseason.

On Friday, Nov. 22, the fourth-seed Longhorns and the fifth-seed Spartans will kick off at 3 p.m. CT on ESPN+.
