After the Texas Longhorns had lost to the Purdue Boilermakers, starting point guard Jordan Pope finally let everybody in on how he had "injured his ankle."
Well, it wasn't just the usual high-ankle sprain, he told the media in the postgame press conference that he had actually suffered a "complete break" in his foot during the Horns' second-round game against the Gonzaga Bulldogs.
Today, just a few days after Texas's exit from the Big Dance, Pope shared another update on his foot, announcing that he had undergone successful surgery.
"Surgery was a success," Pope wrote on social media. "Shout out to my doctors/surgeons and the University of Texas."
Jordan Pope's foot surgery labeled a 'success'
In the tweet, Pope is holding up his Horns with both hands, yet another amazing example of just how much he cares for the team that turned him into the player he is today.

In the comments and reposts, fans, teammates, and coaches shared their support for Pope's journey back to full health, a sign of just how much those around him care for Pope.
Pope played through the broken foot as Texas tried to take on the Boilermakers in the Sweet 16, but even his incredible effort to ignore the nagging injury wasn't enough to push the Longhorns to yet another upset win.
The Longhorns' veteran point guard has reached the end of his collegiate eligibility, but has yet to announce what is next in his journey, whether that be him heading to the NBA Draft or in another direction.
In the game against Gonzaga, Pope was an absolute superstar, earning 17 points, three assists, and one rebound. While playing against Purdue, with his broken foot and all, he earned an arguably even more impressive 12 points, two rebounds, and one assist.
