Texas just received an update on former Longhorns star wide receiver Jordan Shipley after he was critically injured yesterday when the machine that he was operating basically exploded.
Though the cause of it hasn't been revealed yet, it looks like Jordan is going to be okay. He sustained third-degree burns on a significant portion of his body, including his hands.
Statement from the Shipley family regarding the injury itself:
"Jordan was involved in an accident this afternoon near his hometown of Burnet. The machine he was operating on his ranch caught fire, and although he managed to get out, it was not before sustaining severe burns on his body in the process. He was able to get to one of his workers on the ranch who drove him to a local hospital. He was then care-flighted to Austin, where he remains in critical but stable condition.”
A well-known member of the Austin, TX, community also posted an update to social media:
Your prayers for Jordan Shipley are working, please keep them up 🙏 pic.twitter.com/tsuf0D5PRm

Though it sounds like he was pretty beat up in this crazy accident, we all know that Jordan is incredibly tough and that he'll get through this. The entirety of Longhorn Nation is behind the Shipley family right now, and it's incredibly important that we all keep them in our prayers.
It's undoubtedly going to be a while before things get back to normal for Jordan, so it's crucial that he knows that we're all here for him just like he's been for Texas and the city of Austin for so many years.
