Kadin Shedrick is one of the older players on the Texas men's basketball team and is the only Longhorn to play in and start all 34 of the team's matchups so far this season.

Ahead of the Horns' berth in the 2025 NCAA Tournament, Shedrick and his teammate, freshman Tre Johnson, sat down to speak to members of the media. During the press conference, the veteran forward had a few jokes about his age, especially in comparison to Johnson.

When asked what music they had been listening to throughout the beginning of the postseason, Johnson mentioned 'I Gotta Find Peace of Mind' by Lauryn Hill and Shedrick said he'd been putting Gunna on repeat as of late.

"“I try to listen to what the young guys listen to,” said Shedrick, who is 23 years old, compared to Johnson who is just 19 years old.

Shedrick is in his fifth year of collegiate basketball after playing the last two seasons for Texas and the three years before with the Virginia Cavaliers. Johnson, a true freshman, is in his first collegiate season, which could very possibly be his last.

Reportedly, everyone in the press conference had a good laugh over Shedrick's comments about his age. LoneStarLive reporter, Josh Newman said that Shedrick was "acting like he's 54 years old" and that it was a "good time" in the presser.

Johnson, Shedrick, and the Longhorns will face the Xavier Musketeers in the First Four round of the NCAA Tournament to battle for the play-in game to see the field of 64. Texas and Xavier are scheduled to tip off at 8:10 p.m. CT on Wednesday, March 19. The game will be broadcast on truTV.
