A lot of interesting information came from Steve Sarkisian's recent media presser, but perhaps the most important aspect of it was an injury update regarding C.J. Baxter.
Baxter has missed the last four matchups after suffering a hamstring injury on the first play of the game against UTEP in week 3. He's been consistently rehabbing it in the team's facility and on the sidelines for the past month, and it finally looks like he's on the cusp of fully returning.
Sarkisian mentioned that Baxter was "at practice today" and said that they hope that they can get Cedric back into the swing of things.

"Hopefully we can get Cedric more into the fold."
The Longhorns' offense has been missing Baxter's strength and power in the backfield alongside Quintrevion Wisner's speed.
It's well known that Texas' offensive line has been pretty bad when it comes to pass blocking, but they've been much better in the run game as of late. Steve Sarkisian has been having a lot of success running power/counter variations that utilizes pullers and insert blocks to gain a numbers advantage on the play side. They haven't been as effective in the zone game, but that's okay right now.
The run game is all about what's working and what's not at a any given time. It doesn't have to be as intricate as the passing game. Needless to say, Baxter being back could help add another, much needed dimension to Steve Sarkisian's offense alongside Wisner and Christian Clark.
This week's official injury/activity report comes out soon, so stay tuned for more C.J. Baxter updates.
