Former Texas and current New York Jets CB Kris Boyd was shot in the abdomen yesterday morning around 2:00am outside of a Midtown Manhattan restaurant.

Originally, NYPD reported that a 29-year-old male was shot but didn't say the name of the individual. It was confirmed to be Ex-Longhorns CB Kris Boyd upon arrival to the Hospital. Police have still not arrested any suspects, as a SUV sped off immediately after the shooting and they still haven't been able to find the shooter.

Boyd was reported to be "clinging to life" and in critical condition when he got to the hospital, but thanks to an amazing slew of nurses and doctors, he's currently in stable condition.

One of Boyd's closest friends, Ernest Quander, posted an update about his current state recently:

“He’s all good right now. He’s in good condition. He’s doing real good,”

After reading this, everyone can finally take a sigh of relief as Boyd appears to be just fine and hopefully he'll be able to make a full recovery without any long-term effects.

It's also safe to say that his teamates were incredibly concerned as well when first hearing about the tragic event.

The reasoning for the attack is reportedly unknown, but there have been rumors about an argument after Boyd and his friends had dinner that may have continued outside. Witnesses apparently heard two gunshots and then saw an SUV speed off.
