Texas just got some excellent news as one of their top offensive targets for the 2028 class, RB Micah Rhodes, is officially back on the market after ditching his pledge to the Sooners.

The 4-star running back from Klein Oak HS in Spring, TX, is the No.2-ranked RB in America according to 247sports.com's composite rankings, and he's their No.1-ranked RB in site rankings. Oh yeah, and he's the grandson of former Texas linebacker Bobby Rhodes, from the 1980's.

Very few ball-carriers in the class have the playmaking ability that Rhodes has, both as a pure runner and pass-catcher out of the backfield.

He's coming off a big sophomore season for Klein Oak, where he rushed for 1,307 yards and 21 touchdowns, continuing to cement himself as a top prospect in the 2028 class.

Rhodes is very good at playing through contact, being able to ping-pong around and bounce off of opposing defenders on a consistent basis. He also has incredible acceleration and can throttle down to make cuts in short areas both at the line of scrimmage and in the open field. He's incredibly fun to watch on tape, and he'd be an excellent complement to someone like Derrek Cooper down the line.

Rhodes is a perfect fit for Steve Sarkisian's offense, and the fact that so many programs are already gushing over him proves that he's going to be an absolute stud, and someone that the Longhorns will hopefully be able to coerce back "home" to Austin before National Signing Day 2028 comes around.
